Shanta, appreciate the truth-telling here... Thank-you. Africa's 'informal-economy' distorts comparison to western stats... Will the rapid adoption of mobile-money bring previously uncaptured economic activity into 'measured' stats? As noted, a large increase in reported GDP often reflects change in "reporting" rather than change in underlying economic reality. Aside from Aid organizations, African politicians will soon discover attacting business & investment requires reliable indicators -- FACTS reduce risk of unknown.
