In development, there has always a been tension between the " expert knows better " and " ask the people themselves what they need". This article puts everything very much in perspective. Crowd-sourcing needs is not a sufficient alternative for a good analysis. In a good analysis, the opinion of the beneficiaries must be a very important element.
