Tina George Karippacheril

Sr. Public Sector Specialist
Tina George Karippacheril is a Senior Public Sector Specialist for Digital Governance at the World Bank. She offers policy advice, research and technical assistance to governments on the use of technology and design science to solve problems in governance and public management reform, bring public services closer to citizens, and to enable greater transparency and accountability for service delivery, particularly to the poor.

From 2011 until 2013, she lived in Jakarta, Indonesia, working with the President’s Delivery Unit, the National Statistics Agency, a number of innovative NGOs, and dynamic young people in tech., start-up, data and public policy.

She was raised in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman, attended University in India, earning degrees in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (1997) and Management Studies (2000); trained in Mobile services for Government in Germany (2007); and earning a PhD (2014) at the Delft University of Technology in Netherlands, investigating the design of mobile platforms and ecosystems to deliver public services to the poor.

She loves big ideas, to encourage young people, and to see more women in technology, business, and government.
