I believe it unjustifiable to say that we can either save our planet or relieve poverty, two of the major problems facing our world today and jeopardising our future. We definitely need to focus our efforts on sustainable development which will not just help fight poverty but also climate change in the long-term. I believe that senior members of societies and even nations must recognise their ecological footprints in their choice consumption and address the global warming as well as related environmental problems in a sensible way. Cutting down on red meat consumption, for example, it said to contribute toward a reduction of a fifth of greenhouse gases with no large costs involved. Individual and public polices need to pay greater attention to consumption related greenhouse gas regimes and their management with fiscal measures where required - Stella Bennett
