What if we thought up all sorts of creative ways to combat lung cancer, but never criticized smoking and instead gave smokers applause and rewards? That would be nutty, wouldn't it? Just as not smoking would by itself stop most lung cancer, not having babies would eliminate virtually all environmental problems. Or, to be more pragmatic, if everyone had only one child then eventually the population would go down to a reasonable level and we would not have to worry about the environment any more. Too bad we have such a heavy addiction to population growth -- just as smokers are addicted to cigarettes. If we don't get over this addiction then all of your creative solutions to our environmental problems are useless.
