Maybe the numbers (http://www.350.org/) are going down but still we have a big amount of chopped trees. I live at Kyiv (Ukraine) and we have massive cutting down of trees by very rich "good" people. There were about 200 trees and boy it`s like a desert where they are planning to build a market place instead. Hate that. Nobody in government cares. They just say: "They will pay a fine of about $10 000..." Is that OK? According to the law, they must pay for each 100-old tree $8000... So count. 200 trees x $8000 = how much we got? $1 600 000 The question is not "You should pay!" It`s about green zones which are fewer and fewer from year to year.
