An inspiring news and two questions : I heard that the secretary of IPCC launched last summer 2010 a call for proposals for a scholarship programme. Big surprise was an unexpected number of thousands of proposals, far beyond the capacity of IPCC to fund all these PhDs and masters. This good news shows that many young researchers want to build their professional life on climate change science. two questions : 1. the paper posted by R. Watson stresses that the atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases has increased significantly over the past 150 years. Do you agree that the decrease in the proportion of C14, is a clue that this added carbon is old, very old coming mainly from fossil fuel? 2. Could you elaborate a little bet on the progress made recently by science on the radiative activity of these gases ? It looks like a critical change in the understanding of climate change.
