To me the obvious missing link here is why has the solar coockstove not received more effective reception given that it can cook without any fossil fuel? I have a friend who uses it regularly in Geneva, Switzerland (quite a bit North of many of our countries with a huge deforestation and shortage of fuel problems). I know there are cultural aspects, but it is hard to see why such a simple technology in countries with sometimes upward of 300 sunny days a year has not found more ready adoption. Maybe it should be part of a subsidy to local communities in parallel with forest conservation or even reforestation efforts.
