I realized recently that solar cooking has many potential benefits people and the environment. I don't need to recite those benefits to you here. What concerns me is the fact that so far, only relatively small-scale projects have been done to successfully integrate solar cooking into the lifestyle of the billions who could use them. So I joined a local Washington nonprofit, Solar Household Energy, to work on this challenging set of problems. This organization has expertise in this field for over 10 years. We hope to reach senior leaders in the area (including my old friend Andrew Steer) to discuss how to expand the use of solar cooking. I look forward to working with him and others in this endeavor.
