Asli Gurkan is a Governance Specialist at the Social Development Department, the World Bank. Her specialization areas are decentralization, transparency, participation and citizen-based accountability approaches. Asli holds a Masters' degree in International Development and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University-School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelors' degree in Political Science and International Studies from Macalester College. Prior to her position in the World Bank, she was a Research Analyst at a Turkish non-governmental organization, Turkish Industry and Business Association.
