Margaret Grosh
Lead Economist, The World Bank
Margaret Grosh is the Lead Economist for Human Development in the Latin American and Caribbean Region and co- leader for the Safety Nets Global Expert Team. In her prior job Margaret led HDNSP’s safety nets team; was team leader and co-authored For Protection and Promotion: The Design and Implementation of Effective Safety Nets (2008); a contributing author for the major policy research report that reviews the lessons from the experience of conditional cash transfer programs, Conditional Cash Transfers: Reducing Present and Future Poverty (2009) and organizer of a number of conferences and workshops, some focusing on only conditional cash transfers, others on safety nets more widely. Previous assignments included leading the team on Living Standard Measurement Studies in the Bank's research department. and work on poverty and safety net programs in Latin America. She holds a PhD in Economics from Cornell University.
