Tim Herzog
Open Data Specialist, World Bank
Tim Herzog is an Open Data Specialist with the Development Data Group of the World Bank. He supports efforts to expand and improve data.worldbank.org and promote open data efforts throughout the Bank, as well as engaging with other organizations and sectors. Tim has extensive experience in climate change data and policy, and was instrumental in the launch of the World Bank's Open Climate Data Initiative in 2011. Prior to joining the World Bank, Tim was Director of Online Communications at the World Resources Institute, where he supervised online strategy, content management, and website technologies for WRI and its various departments. Previously, Tim was a policy analyst in WRI's Climate and Energy Program where he specialized in greenhouse gas inventories, related indicators, and analytical tools. He is the author and co-author of several publications on greenhouse gas emissions at the international and sectoral level. Tim has worked in the private sector as a technology consultant to several leading U.S. companies. Tim holds a Master’s degree in public policy from the Georgetown Public Policy Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in communications from Bethel University in Minnesota.
