Assessing the microfinance sector in Myanmar

This page in:

Microfinance in Myanmar - Sector AssessmentIt is estimated that less than 20 percent of the population of Myanmar uses formal financial services, says Eric Duflos in the CGAP blog. This rate is one of the lowest in the East Asia and Pacific region, but Duflos refers to a recently published report by CGAP and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) which he co-authored, "Microfinance in Myanmar", for more details on this rapidly changing landscape.

The document is presented as the first comprehensive publicly available assessment of the microfinance landscape in Myanmar since the enactment of the country’s microfinance law in late 2011.
