Philip Schellekens
Philip Schellekens works in the East Asia and Pacific Department of the World Bank. Prior to his appointment to the World Bank, he was with the International Monetary Fund, where he served in the Asia and Pacific, Monetary and Capital Markets, and European Departments. He worked as macroeconomist and financial sector economist on Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand in the Asia region, as well as on Lebanon, South Africa and most of the European economies. Before joining the Fund, he was for two years with the Economics Departments of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University. He also worked at the Bank of England, the Financial Markets Group, and the IMF’s Research Department. He completed his graduate studies at the London School of Economics, where he obtained an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Economics.
