For those of you interested in what has changed since some of the pioneering BBC microcomputer programs in the 1980s -- and what hasn't! -- the web site for the UK National Archive of Educational Computing (NAEC, which Richard links to above) is a great resource.
Here, for example, is UK's The Microelectronics Education Programme Strategy from 1981. (Change a few words here and there, and this isn't too terribly dissimilar from some of the strategy documents for 'ICT/education' programs in some places that one sees in 2010.)
