Thank you, Raj for your introspective questions. It wasnt as if a lightning rod struck me and I realized how ignorant or uneducated I was. It was just a general sentiment that I felt throughout the meeting. A general lack of exposure to the region is one reason for this feeling, and the other is perhaps that the community does indeed have novel social practices. One must live among these people to realize truly how special and unique they are. No replacement of views took place. Just an overwhelming sense of the work we need to do within these communities.
