Senior Agricultural Specialist
Abel Lufafa is a Senior Agricultural Specialist at the World Bank, where for the last 12 years, he has been involved in supporting countries across Africa, East Asia, and South Asia to design and implement programs in agriculture and rural development to reduce poverty. Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked for the International Food Policy Research Institute and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture. Currently, Abel’s work at the Bank focuses mainly on building the resilience of agricultural systems and landscapes to climate change and fostering the exchange of knowledge and best practices on climate change action in agriculture between South Asia and Africa. Abel holds a Ph.D. degree from the College of Agricultural Sciences, Oregon State University.
