Sector Manager, Health, Nutrition, and Population - World Bank Group
Ms. Nicole Klingen is Sector Manager for Health, Nutrition, and Population at the World Bank Group (WBG), a position she has held since 2011.
 
Ms. Klingen is an economist with more than 17 years of experience in international development at the World Bank. She is responsible for managing a team of health specialists and economists in the Bank’s global health, nutrition and population unit, where she oversees the unit’s operations and portfolio with a focus on delivering results for countries.
 
Ms. Klingen co-led the development of the WBG’s 2007 Strategy for Health, Nutrition and Population Results. She also co-led the International Health Partnership (IHP+) and related initiatives and served as co-coordinator of the secretariat for the High-level Taskforce on Innovative International Financing for Health Systems, which was launched in September 2008 to help strengthen health systems in the 49 poorest countries in the world. She spent nearly ten years in operations, predominantly in the Middle East and North Africa.
