Eva M. Gutiérrez
Eva Gutiérrez is a Lead Financial Sector Specialist in the Latin America and the Caribbean Region of the World Bank. World Bank. She has wide knowledge of the Latin American Financial Systems, having led numerous teams in the Financial Sector Assessment Program, (FSAP) that the World Bank conducts jointly with the IMF, which provide recommendations to strengthen financial stability, and promote financial sector development and inclusion. She has also led several technical assistance projects to strengthen the mechanisms and arrangements to deal with financial crisis and to monitor and manage systemic risk. She has published several articles on various financial sector topics including how to manage micro-systemic risk, development banks and cooperative banks, supervision and regulation of dollarized banking systems and derivatives activities. Prior to joining the World Bank in October 2008, she worked for at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for nine years, as Sr. Economist. She holds a Ph,D in Economics from Boston University and a Masters in Financial Economics by the Center for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI, Bank of Spain Foundation).
