“I have not focused on MENA recently, but am aware of the issues highlighted in Yemen and Iraq. I think it might be useful to compare these “undernourishment” figures with “undernutrition” indicators to see if/how they track together. In addition it would be useful to do some equity analyses to better understand what is actually happening. As you are probably aware, the undernourishment indicator is a very inaccurate indicator based on aggregated food production (vs access/utilization) data and hence not a favorite indicator to track. India is the classic example of “food secure” and yet has one of the highest rates of undernutrition in the world.” Meera Shekar
