Remittance does make a substantial source of income for some developing countries In south east Asia, It may help reduce poverty, but it does distroy family structure, living behind husbands left by themselves with children to raise, or the opposite. In the hosts countries, it also maintains social structures that highly questionable for using maids, garderners and the like, at minimum costs, in an often lawless environment.
