The Yale Savings and Payments Research Fund (YASPR), under the Global Financial Inclusion Initiative at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), is planning a training event for PhD (and PhD-track) researchers who are interested in conducting randomized control trials (RCTs) on micro-savings and payments.
The training will be conducted in South Asia in early September 2012, with the location to-be-finalized in the coming two weeks. The objective of the four day training is to help researchers learn more about RCTs and think critically about how they might apply this research tool in their own countries. Additionally, the training will help participants learn more about the state of research on micro-savings and payments and encourage them to develop research ideas of how to fill the gaps in current knowledge.
We are looking to recruit stellar candidates who have solid training, exposure to field research and who aspire to pursue high-level research using RCTs. Candidates must be PhD holders or advanced PhD candidates. Nominated candidates will undergo a round of screening and selection – ensuring that we have the highest possible quality of participants.
If you are interested, please fill in this application and apply as soon as possible as they will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis. The final deadline for submitting an application is July 23, 2012 (although I was told they are extending this by a few days).
