Against a backdrop of accelerating modern retail globalization, India retained its position as the world’s most attractive emerging market, according the 2006 Global Retail Development Index (GRDI), an annual study of retail investment attractiveness among 30 emerging markets. The study also found Asia has overtaken Eastern Europe as the dominant region for global retail expansion.

War On Want has released the latest in a series of reports to compare corporate social responsibility rhetoric with investigated company practices. In Coca-Cola: the Alternative Report there are some important charges made, although many of the allegations have been reported before, and it is hard to see the call for a boycott of Coke products gaining momentum. The result is a publication no more balanced than a rose-tinted CSR report.
