Corporate strategies for global growth

According to a survey of 100 senior executives at top Western corporations, the average company expects to have one-third of its sales coming from rapidly developing economies like China and India by 2010, compared to 21% now. That's not surprising, given that more than 40% of world economic growth over the next decade is expected to come from China, India, Central and Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

But Boston Consulting Groups says that while OECD firms appreciate this potential, they are not doing enough about it. They of course have suggestions for management as to what needs to be done. I sure hope their ‘RDE’ acronym does not stick - I had enough at BRICs.

For my doctoral thesis, on social responsiblity of companies, I would need information dealing with big multinational companies. For example, I would be appreciated of statics in which share of world trade the biggest companies reign. In addition, what is the amount that their turnovers in propotion to national products.

On HIV/AIDS, a good source for data and research on the topic is the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS. Their last update on HIV/AIDS prevalence rate is from December 2005, so very current.
