The impact of web 2.0 on scientific research

Susan,
great post. For a different, yet related take on how web 2.0 techologies are impacting scientific research, you might be interested in the recent WSJ piece on why science cannot be an individual endavour anymore, but rather a "team sport". Science 2.0 is about emerging patters of collaboration as much as it is about enhanced data processing and visualisation.
