the gains afforded via social networking

Interesting post, especially the role of social networking in forcing the Indonesian government to reconsider its stance. As one of the biggest problems in developing economies, corruption is a problem that is persistent in nature and difficult to stem if governments are unwilling to indict themselves (who would be willing?). Not only is the KPK an interesting case study of counter corruption tactics, but the overwhelming support from Indonesia's citizenry also gives clear evidence of the desire and need to fight corruption in developing economies. Additionally, the use of social media to demonstrate support and call for further inquiry, as opposed to violent rioting, raises interesting possibilities for non-violent revolutions.
