Very exciting perhaps.. but (and it is Friday evening!) it seems that it's still all about governments and aid.. What about trade, commerce, multinationals - whose activities sometimes scupper the positive impacts of aid? Also what about consumers and producers whose consumption and production patterns are inimical to 'development' of others? What about our obsession with growth, often with disregard to natural limits? At a South Asian dialogue on the post-2015 agenda organised in Colombo a few weeks ago, participants came up with the need not for 'good governance' but for 'JUST governance', and not only for developing countries, but also as a goal for global governance. Is the 'international community' ready for transformational shifts in global power?
