Svetlana Alexievich, an investigative journalist and non-fiction prose writer who was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature "for her polyphonic writings, a monument to suffering and courage in our time." She is the first writer from Belarus to receive the award.
 

Quoted in the Financial Times print edition December 19/20, 2015 "Speak with a human voice", which she herself wrote.

The beauty shines forth under such situations because such speeches are straight from the heart, shorn of all pretences and fake, socially-imposed embellishments.
