Alan Fuchs Tarlovsky is a Senior Economist in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice. He is leading the SCD for Chile and co-led a thorough analysis of the distributional effects of the recently approved Chilean fiscal reform (with MFM and Governance GPs). He also co-lead the First Social Inclusion DPL for Chile, the SCD for Uruguay and is currently co-leading a Regional Report for LAC Chief Economist Office on Shocks and Managing Risks. Alan’s research focuses on development economics, applied microeconomics, insurance and energy economics. Prior to joining the World Bank Alan worked for the UNDP as part of the Human Development Report Office’s research team, and for the Mexican Government within three different Federal Agencies: Ministry of Finance, Mexican Institute for Social Security, and Ministry for Social Development. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley, an MPA/ID from Harvard University and B.A. in Economics and a MPP from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
