Alanna Simpson leads the GFDRR Labs team, which is responsible for supporting the World Bank’s Disaster Risk Management (DRM) practice with disaster risk assessments, and geospatial and remote sensing technologies, through the promotion, design and quality assurance of natural hazard risk assessments and their communication to end users; tool development around the topic of understanding risk; the development and implemention of the Open Data for Resilience Iniative (OpenDRI); and international knowledge exchange through publications and the Understanding Risk Forum.
