Alexis R. Sienaert
Alex joined the World Bank in 2011 and was posted first to the Government Debt and Risk Management group in the Treasury and then to the Jakarta office where he is based currently. He is responsible for macroeconomic monitoring and analysis for Indonesia, and supports the government through related policy analysis. Prior to joining the World Bank, Alex worked as an emerging markets economist and fixed income strategist for Standard Chartered Bank in London, Singapore and Dubai, and for JP Morgan in London. Previously, he also spent a year with Accenture, working on projects at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cape Town and a doctorate in economics from the University of Oxford.
