Amparo Palacios-Lopez

Economist in the Development Data Group of the World Bank
Amparo Palacios-López is an economist in the Development Data Group of the World Bank. Her primary area of research is agricultural and rural development, with a focus on gender, labor and welfare. As a member of the LSMS-ISA team, she supports projects in Nigeria, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda. Palacios-López conducts research on survey methods, focusing on agriculture and labor, and she is a core member of the Household Survey Technical Review Panel that leads the quality assurance process of ongoing World Bank supported household surveys. She is also involved in the analysis and harmonization of a wide range of indicators across the six LSMS-ISA countries.

Palacios-López has a Ph.D. in Agriculture and Resource Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and holds both an M.A. in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an M.S. in Agriculture and Resource Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
