Brenden is a Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and leads the World Bank’s global work on Nature-based Solutions. A Dutch national, Brenden holds a PhD in Water and Climate Risk Management from the Institute for Environmental Studies in Amsterdam and has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles on resilience and climate change.
