External Affairs Officer

Carlos Ferreyra is an External Affairs Officer on a Development Assignment to the Global Governance Practice of the World Bank Group. Since February of 2020, he joined the team responsible for communicating essential development priorities on the Public Sector Governance and the Anticorruption agenda of the World Bank Group.

Before that, he was the Task Team Lead of the Global Web and Audience Development at the World Bank’s External and Corporate Relations Vice-presidency. He joined the Bank in 2010 as a Spanish Corporate Editor. With 18 years of digital experience, he and his team are responsible for increasing the digital presence of the WBG in six languages. Mr. Ferreyra previously worked as a programming director at AOL.com, Digital News Director at Univision.com, Latin-American pages Editor at La Opinion in Los Angeles, Bureau Chief in California of the Mexican daily El Universal. He worked as a correspondent for Notimex and the Spaniard Wire Service at EFE in Mexico City. He has a bachelor’s degree in International Politics from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a postgraduate in International Journalism from the University of Southern California.
