Cheick Fantamady Kante
Cheick Kante manages the World Bank’s Country Office in Ouagadougou, leading client dialogue and providing overall responsibility for developing and implementing the Bank’s strategy in Burkina Faso. Since joining the World Bank Group, he has held various leading positions, including at IFC, the most recent being Country Manager in Guinea-Conakry where he revived the World Bank portfolio after a long period of suspension. He is passionate about economic development, particularly financial access, regional economic integration, and spatial inequality. Born in Mali, Mr. Kanté received his B.A.in Education from Bamako’s École Normale Supérieure and his M.B.A. from the University of Arizona.
