Ag. Director General/CEO of Nigeria’s Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC)

Chidi has recently been appointed as the Ag. Director General/CEO of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission in the Presidency and is awaiting confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Prior to this appointment, he was the Executive Director of the Support Services Department of the Commission. He was also the pioneer Executive Director of the PPP Resource Department of the Infrasructure Concession Regulatory Commission, building up the department from scratch. In this role, he was responsible for catalyzing public and private expertise and resources towards putting in place a world-class pre-contract regulatory framework and guidelines for driving the preparation and development of federal PPP projects.

Chidi is a professional engineer and started his career in 1986 as a lecturer in fluid mechanics and hydropower engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Thereafter, he held several senior oil and gas asset management positions in a career spanning over 21 years with Shell Nigeria, and Shell International USA and Europe. He is a frequent speaker on infrastructure finance, Islamic Finance, and PPPs. Chidi’s dream is to play a key role in collaborating with others to create an infrastructure-sufficient Nigeria, where infrastructure delivery is powered by effective, world-class PPPs.
