Collette Wheeler is an economist in the World Bank’s Development Prospects Group (DECPG). She is a contributor to the flagship Global Economic Prospects report, the Global Monthly, and to briefings for senior management. She has participated in work on the implications of the 2014-16 oil price collapse and on the development of job strategies for Iraq. Prior to joining the World Bank, Ms. Wheeler worked for a financial consulting firm. She has written about U.S. and emerging and developing economy fiscal policy challenges, international tobacco taxation, and the impact of currency devaluations on international trade. She holds an MA in economic development and a BA in economics and philosophy from Vanderbilt University.
