David T. Neal

Dr. David Neal is a psychologist specializing in behavior change and human decision-making, especially in the consumer and health domains. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Catalyst Behavioral Sciences, based in Miami.

David holds a PhD from Melbourne and completed his post-doctoral training at Duke, in the psychology department and Fuqua School of Business.

David’s academic research focuses on finding new ways to “nudge” or influence people change their behavior without relying on their rational, logical thinking processes. His research studies have been featured in Time Magazine, The New York Times, NPR, BBC, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, and USA Today, among others.

David focuses on applying behavioral science thinking to consumer and health behavior change. He advises a range of health organizations, including the World Bank, USAID, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Surgeon General of the US Army.
