Edie Purdie is a consultant to the Development Data Group at the World Bank and works on outreach for the International Comparison Program. Previously she edited the Atlas of Sustainable Development Goals 2017 and 2018 and compiled data stories and charts for World Development Indicators. Before joining the World Bank she was a statistician for the UK Government Statistical Service and worked on policy and dissemination of official statistics, on labor and pay statistics, on the retail price index, and took a policy role leading the international team of the UK’s Small Business Service. She also spent time in the Australian Bureau of Statistics working on its census, in Eurostat working on labor statistics, and in the Fiji office of UNICEF, doing sentinel site surveys and data analysis. She studied Geophysical Sciences at Southampton University and Statistics for Government at the University of Westminster.
