Edie Purdie is a consultant to the Development Data Group at the World Bank, working primarily on data communications and outreach for the International Comparison Program (ICP) and the Food Prices for Nutrition project. Previously she edited the 2017 and 2018 editions of the Atlas of Sustainable Development Goals and compiled data stories and charts for World Development Indicators. Before joining the World Bank, she was a statistician for the UK Government Statistical Service and worked on policy and dissemination of official statistics, on labor and pay statistics, on the retail price index, and took a policy role leading the international team of the UK’s Small Business Service. She also spent time at the Australian Bureau of Statistics working on its national census, at Eurostat working on labor statistics, and at UNICEF Fiji, doing sentinel site surveys and data analysis. She studied Geophysical Sciences at Southampton University and Statistics for Government at the University of Westminster.
