Disaster Risk Management Specialist, Consultant

Francesco Varotto is a Disaster Risk Management Consultant in the Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land Global Practice at the World Bank. He joined the Bank in 2019 in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region and currently supports the Disaster Risk Management Technical Assistance program in LAC and advisory services focused on the provision of implementation assistance for recovery and resilience building programs in the Caribbean. His focus is the correlation of economic development, natural disasters, and fragility, conflict, and violence (FCV), and has experience in public policy and project management. He has an MA in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a Postgraduate Degree in Security Studies from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ training school.
