Ilias Skamnelos is a Senior Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank. He is a Ph.D. macro-financial economist, with a passion for issues of financial stability and inclusion. His experience with the World Bank spans two regions, Europe and Central Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean, and includes serving as advisor to the Vice-President of Finance and Private Sector Development. Ilias did his graduate work at University of Nottingham, focusing on financial crises, and his undergraduate in economics at LSE.
