Jing Guo

Jing Guo is a member of the Public Opinion Research Group of the Global Practice Communications Department. Her work currently focuses on conducting public opinion surveys in about 40 countries a year. Jing has published a number of peer-reviewed journal articles and presented at international, national and regional conferences on various topics in international communication, political communication, gender studies, new media, and media psychology. Her background also includes working as a web editor and public radio reporter in the United States and a journalist in China. She taught undergraduate courses in media literacy and international mass communication.
 
Jing holds a Ph.D. in Journalism Studies and Public Communication from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she was an Eleanor Merrill Scholar and an International Teaching Fellow. She received her Master’s Degree from Miami University in Mass Communication with a graduate certificate in Women’s Studies. She was trained as a broadcast journalist in Communication University of China in Beijing.
