Jonas Heirman is an Evaluation Officer and Acting Head of WFP’s Impact Evaluation Unit based in Rome. He is responsible for developing and implementing WFP’s impact evaluation strategy and managing a team that delivers demand-led impact evaluations across WFP operations in 117 countries and territories. Jonas has worked in international development for over 14 years in various advisory, research and evaluation capacities, including at the UK’s Department for International Development, the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), the University of Oxford, and the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM). Jonas holds a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in Development Studies from the University of Oxford. His current interests include the use of evidence in policymaking, innovation, African politics, agriculture and rural development, cash transfers, climate change, food security, nutrition, and school-feeding programmes.
