Jozefien Van Damme is Senior Operations Officer at the World Bank’s Health, Nutrition and Population team for West and Central Africa. She is a team lead on the World Bank financed Sub Saharan African Women’s Empowerment and Demographic Dividend Project Plus (SWEDD+), and the task team leader on SWEDD+ Togo. Jozefien has worked extensively on human development issues from a multisectoral perspective, and on gender equality in particular. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2012, she worked for the Belgian Development Cooperation on partnerships with multilateral organizations and with African countries. She holds degrees in law, international relations and peace and conflict studies from Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, Institut d’études politiques, Aix-en-Provence, France, and the University of Queensland, Australia.
