Kate Lauer is a lawyer and senior policy advisor to the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP). Kate works on legal and policy issues relevant to financial inclusion, including the regulation and supervision of banks and nonbanks involved in digital financial inclusion. Kate began the practice of law at the international law firm Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton and then served as in-house counsel at the EBRD and as vice president and assistant general counsel at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Kate has a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. in economics from Dartmouth College.
