Director, Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice
Klaus Tilmes is Director of the Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice of the World Bank Group. In that position, he is responsible for such global themes as Trade, Competitive Sectors, Investment Climate and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Prior to his current position, Klaus was the Director of the Financial and Private Sector Development (FPD) Network at the World Bank, a position he held from 2010 to 2014. Klaus has a Master’s degree in Public Administration, focused on Development Economics and Public Sector Management, from Harvard University, and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim.
