Mansur Ahmed is a consultant in the Food & Agriculture Global Practice of the World Bank in Washington DC. His research interests are in the areas of agriculture and rural development, labor markets, poverty and inequality. He has accumulated substantial experiences and expertise in econometric and statistical modeling, productivity and efficiency analysis, poverty and social impact analysis, impact evaluation, and inclusive jobs in the context of developing countries. Over the past years, he has worked as a core team member in various research projects such as the Dynamics of Rural Growth in Bangladesh report (the World Bank), Integrated Rural Development in Mali report (the World Bank), Jobs from Agriculture and Rural Development Operations in Afghanistan report (the World Bank) and a Global Inequality report of UNDP. Prior to working in the World Bank, he worked at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) in Bangladesh as a Research Associate. He has received his PhD in Economics from the North Carolina State University.
