Martina Bosi, Senior Energy Specialist, ESMAP
Martina Bosi is currently a Senior Energy Specialist at World Ban Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP). Her focus is on energy in cities, where she is part of the team leading the Bank’s City Energy Efficiency Transformation Initiative (CEETI). Prior to joining ESMAP in September 2013, she worked as a Senior Carbon Finance Specialist in the World Bank Carbon Finance Unit, where she was a founding member of the Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR) and before that the fund manager of two of the Bank’s carbon funds. She also was the lead author of the Carbon Finance Unit’s “10 Years of Experience in Carbon Finance”. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2005, she spent 6 years at the Paris-based International Energy Agency (IEA) where her primary responsibility was on the Agency’s workprogram on greenhouse gas market mechanisms. She started her career with the Canadian Government, where she worked 6 years at Natural Resources Canada as an economist and senior policy analyst on both domestic and international energy and climate change policy and was a member of the Canadian delegation to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change. Martina, a Canadian and Italian national, holds bachelors and masters degrees in economics from Université Laval in Québec City, Canada.
