Senior Health Economist
Owen Smith is a Senior Economist working on health and social protection with the World Bank, based in Sri Lanka. Since joining the World Bank in 2005, he has worked on health financing, health policy, and social protection issues in the Europe and Central Asia and South Asia regions. Prior to joining the World Bank, he spent three years as a health economist at Abt Associates with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, and three years as a country economist at the Canadian Ministry of Finance working on East Asia. He has degrees in economics and international development from Queen’s University and Harvard’s Kennedy School.
