Philipp Petermann is a Resilience Specialist (JPO) in the Social, Urban, Rural and Resilience Global Practice of the World Bank. His work focuses on fragility, conflict, crisis response, disaster risk management, and recovery and reconstruction in the Middle East and North Africa region. Prior to the World Bank, he worked on private sector development issues with the OECD and supported a local NGO in Somalia on peacebuilding issues. He holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and undergraduate degrees from Sciences Po Paris and the Université de Lorraine in political science and economics.
